Some kind of conversion or process for going between the two would be very useful, or maybe some way of making the two properly equivalent if that's even possible. Otherwise people who have civil partnerships will continue in many cases to leave their rights and privileges at the UK border as most countries do not recognise our civil partnerships. This can be a problem even in countries that have their own civil partnership equivalents. France was a famous example of this until they changed the law last year.
