Tooth Update

I phoned my dentist this morning, and now have an appointment on Wednesday.

The wisdom tooth is still causing much pain, but I've been keeping on top of it with Bonjela, as recommended by Zoe, and ibuprofen. That was before I remembered I had a bunch of surgical strength diclofenac pills left over from my sinus operation last year, so now I've turned the heavy guns on it.

Am hoping the dentist will give me more diclofenac (can they do that?), as the stuff one can buy without a prescription is only a tenth of the strength.

Am also hoping that, assuming they're unable to take it out there and then on Wednesday, that I won't have to wait long to have this little f*cker taken out.

Good luck. I know how unpleasant this can be.

Dentists can write out prescriptions, though what they will do it for is quite limited - painkillers should be something they can give though. You can but ask.

When my wisdom tooth (impacted) was playing up about a month ago, I went as an emergency to the dentist. Because I'm pregnant, his advice was to clean it carefully, and use listerine. Needless to say this advice did not impress me!
He made me feel like a 5 year old who didn't know how to clean their teeth properly.

Hope you have better luck!
