How can we deal with the shit that comes from cis folks if we claim one of our own using the same epithets is less important?
Emphasis mine. I might be wrong about this, but I presume you're riffing off 'the community would likely be better off without you.' from the OP. While I think assholes are assholes, this is a really problematic stance; who gets to decide who should belong to the 'community' and who shouldn't? Who gets to decide who the 'community' really would be better off without? Who gets to decide *what* the 'community' actually is in the first place?
Even though I can appreciate the frustration and anger that led to this comment, the implications are nothing short of gatekeeping. That's something else radfems do too, you know? Is you lesbian enough, like?
