From The Guardian comes a story about trans issues, only this time it's not from everyone's favourite caricature of the lunatic-fringe of feminism. No, this one is about a trans man in Spain, who is pregnant with twins.

My first reaction was to think of the media circus surrounding Thomas Beatie, who was the first trans man to be famous for being pregnant, and think, "Oh no, not again!" I swear that this gets worse each time though. This article includes the following lovely quotes from Dr Josep-Luis Ballescà, a gynaecologist at the reproductive andrology unit at the Clinical Hospital of Barcelona:

The intervention for a sex change should be complete, which means the removal of the ovaries.

Apparently the pregnancy is:

technically feasible but not necessarily ethically acceptable.

Quite right too! Shouldn't allow these people to breed. Just think of all the bad things which would happen like, paperwork potentially being a bit fiddly and stuff.

*grr* *stabbity death*
  • Father-in-law died.

  • State-mandated divorce.

  • Toxic afternoon with Sylvia's grandparents which we drove a 700 mile round trip for.

  • And now, today one of my snakes died.

I guess worse things happen at sea :-/
