Love that laser
Dec. 10th, 2005 01:39 pm12 days since my face was lasered, and I just got that magical moment when the the razor pulls what's left of the hair clean out, rather than just cutting the end off. Somehow, it makes that 15 minutes of intense pain with smoke rising from my face all worthwhile.
Off to London to visit my father-in-law in hospital. He's just had quite major surgery on his leg, and being quite elderly I'm hoping he's coming round from the operation OK. Apart from the leg problem he's pretty good physically, so I'm expecting he's going to be just fine.
My mother-in-law is overwintering in India. The problem with my father-in-law's leg came to a head just before they were both able to go, so she's out there without him (in sickness and in health, eh?). With this in mind, we haven't told them I'm transitioning yet, although they both know I'm transgendered. With that in mind, I'm going to present somewhat conservatively - trousers (Per Una) and a nice pink top. Just the feminine side of androgynous, which I don't mind at all. I got the whole "wanting to wear evening dresses all the time" thing out of my system years ago.
Update: They still haven't fixed my father-in-law's hearing aid, so there I am, in the middle of a hospital ward, wearing a pink top, light makeup and false breasts, shouting and sounding very male. Grrrrrr!
