Fun Little Bouldering Problem

Sometimes the staff at The Castle set a real gem of a route, or a bouldering problem. In the case of the latter, I really like something that is steep, about V1-V2ish, not too crimpy, athletic and that makes me think a bit.

Today I found one such. It was part of the boulder ladder, so didn't have a grade on it, but I would place it at V1 or V2 on a good day. Here's me climbing it and having tremendous fun doing so. There's a bit near the end where slightly more than my entire body weight goes on my left arm briefly (I'm pushing away from the wall with my leg, and applying an opposite force on my arm, which is also above my centre of gravity), and you can see the muscles bulge as that happens.

I'm gonna feel that tomorrow!

Nice, you make it look so easy :-)

That's way higher than I'd go w/o a rope too, scary!

Thanks :-)

Knocks the stuffing out a bit falling from the top of that!

I saw an interesting climbing wall at the weekend. I thought of you, so I took a photo: http://gorge.org/images/misc/2010/climbing.jpg

Isn't it? Made a change from the bouncy castles present.

I note that you didn't decide to chop your hair after all :o)

Still prefer my hillwalking vaguely horizontal!
